Balvenie's 16 Year Old French Oak is a member of their Cask Finishes line. This single malt whiskey begins its aging process in American oak casks before being transferred to Pineau des Charentes oak casks - typically reserved for French red wines. The nose is filled with scents of lotus, geranium, green apple, and spring meadow, while the palate offers notes of lemon peel, grapefruit, ginger, vanilla, honey, and candied fruit.
